Supporting the creation and appreciation of the visual arts in Manawatu...and beyond

Anne Morris

I am an established artist in the Manawatu with my own studio and gallery.
I studied at the School of Fine Arts, Dunedin (1980 - 1983), graduating with a Diploma of Fine Arts - majoring in Painting. After travelling and living in the UK for several years I returned to live in Palmerston North in 1991.
I have a special interest in painting landscapes; last year I began a series of paintings under the title 'Watercolours' where I used acrylic paints to produce thin layers of colour to create the effect of light moving through and around my images.
Alongside this I am also working on a series of paintings under the title of 'Inheritance'. These works are about our history, buildings, landscapes, and our stories.
